Dev servers
Devbar lists the ports your projects are listening on, so you can open, copy, or stop a dev server without hunting for the terminal it's in.
Below the quota, the menu lists every dev server running on your Mac. Each row shows localhost:<port>, with the project folder and the process name under it.
Devbar scans each time you open the menu, using lsof to find TCP ports that are listening. A port counts as a dev server when its process was started from a project folder. System services and apps start from / or from inside their app bundle, so they’re left out.
What you can do
Hover over a row to open its submenu:
- Open in Browser opens
http://localhost:<port>. - Copy URL and Copy PID copy those to the clipboard.
- Hide hides every process with that name, like
node, from the list. - Stop Process sends
SIGTERM, the polite way to ask a process to quit. - Force Stop Process sends
SIGKILL. Hold ⌥ to see it.
Hidden processes
Hidden process names are listed in Settings under Dev Servers. Choose Show All to bring them back. You can also turn the whole list off with Show dev servers.
