Devbar has no account, no analytics, and no server of its own. Everything it shows comes from your Mac or from the AI tools you already use.

## Logins

Devbar reuses the logins your AI tools already saved. It only reads them: it never refreshes a token or writes anything back, so it can't sign you out of Codex, Claude Code, or Muse.

| Tool | Reads | Sends a request to |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Codex | `~/.codex/auth.json` | `chatgpt.com` for your usage |
| Claude | Claude Code's Keychain item, or `~/.claude/.credentials.json` | `api.anthropic.com` for your usage |
| Muse | `~/.config/muse/auth.json`, or its Keychain item | `api.meta.ai`, which returns a short-lived key that Devbar throws away |

Keychain items are read through the system's `security` tool and kept in memory only. Background refreshes never show a Keychain prompt; only opening the menu or choosing Refresh can.

## Everything else stays local

- **Dev servers** come from `lsof` on your Mac.
- **Worktrees** come from scanning your home folder and running `git` locally, only while the Worktrees window is open.
- **Camera** reads macOS's camera permissions database read-only, and only with Full Disk Access.
- **Updates** check the release feed on GitHub, without credentials or a system profile.
